LaGrange police this morning were seeking three suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred this morning where gunshots were fired.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call in in reference to shots being fired in the area at about 4:48 a.m. Friday morning. An update revealed that this was a robbery and that shots had been allegedly fired at the victim.
A police report gave the following account: the victim was leaving his apartment at Sun Ridge Apartments on Hogansville Road and approaching his vehicle when he was approached by three black males wearing ski masks who came from behind the apartment building. He heard one of the suspects “racking the slide” of a semi-automatic handgun and the victim ran a short distance before falling a grassy area and the suspects caught up with him.
The gunmen stood over the victim and demanded money. The victim handed over a roll of money that he said added up to $1,225. After giving them the money, the victim said that one of the men yelled “that ain’t all of it,”and screamed at him,“count it.”
According to reports, the victim claimed that the gunmen then ran behind a nearby apartment building and before the victim could chase them down, one of the men fired shots from his firearm back at the victim. The victim said he saw one of the subjects leave in a older model, tan-colored Lexus SUV that turned South on Hogansville Road and back on Commerce Avenue.
