Man arrested for allegedly cutting woman

LaGrange Police arrested a man for allegedly cutting a woman in the hand with a knife Saturday.

According to a police report, at around 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 100 block of Locust Street in reference to a person who had been cut.

Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with the victim, Artira Harrison, 23, of LaGrange, who claimed that children’s father Roderick Gates, 23, of LaGrange had allegedly cut her with a knife during an altercation in front of three small children, the report said.

According to the report, Harrison then stated that Gates fled the area on foot.Officers made contact with Gates shortly after the incident had occurred.

Gates was charged with aggravated assault and three counts of cruelty to a child 3rd degree.
