The LaGrange Grangers continued to tune up for next week’s Region 5-AAAA opener with a 7-3 road win over Central-Carroll on Monday.
LaGrange (4-6) has two more games before it begins its region schedule on March 21 against Shaw.
Jake Farrar got the start on Monday, and he pitched four innings to get the win, and Logan Moody pitched the final three innings.
“I thought our guys played well tonight,” LaGrange coach Todd Herrington said. “They made a few errors, and we took advantage of them. I was proud of them for doing that. We swung the bats better, all the way around.”
Logan Hood, who was playing first base with Farrar on the mound, had an RBI hit, he drove in another run with a groundout, and he also had a sacrifice bunt that led to a run.
Chas Pardue had a hit and a pair of RBIs, and Farrar and Wynton Heard both had doubles.
LaGrange will be back home today for a game against Brookstone at 5:30 p.m.
LaGrange will then host Newnan on Monday, and then it’ll be time for region play.
The Grangers have been a busy team through the first few weeks of the season, and they’ll have a little down time now before region play commences.
“We wanted to make sure we had an opportunity for some practice, and some makeup games if we needed them, too,” Herrington said.
