A man was arrested after he allegedly broke into LaGrange Toyota Sunday morning.

According to police, on Sunday at about 7:52 a.m. officers responded to LaGrange Toyota on Hogansville Road in reference to a burglary in progress. The caller had told 911 dispatchers that a black male had entered the the building through a rear window by using a crowbar.

Upon arrival officers noticed a rear window had been forced open. Officers surrounded the building and brought a K9 to the scene. Officers made contact with the owner, who advised that no employees were supposed to be at the location and the facility was closed.

The K9 officer gave several verbal commands that if anyone was inside the building to come out or the K9 would be released. After there was no response from inside, the K9 was released and it located Anthony Moreland, 52, of Franklin, inside the building.

Moreland was transported to the West Georgia Medical Center for Treatment and later transported to the Troup County Jail where he was charged with burglary, possession of tools during the commission of a burglary and misdemeanor obstruction.
