The Troup Tigers fell to homestanding Central-Phenix City 9-7 on Thursday for their third straight loss.

It was a rough all-around night for the Tigers, who committed five errors and gave up seven unearned runs.

At the plate, the Tigers struck out nine times, four times looking.

The Tigers fell to 3-4, and head coach Craig Garner said they’re a team looking for answers at the moment.

“It is what it is. We’re not a very good baseball team right now,” Garner said. “It’s more a matter of confidence than anything.”

Jarred Adams had a pair of doubles for the Tigers, and Justin Neighbors also had two hits.

Brandon Butts, Jonathan Foster, C.J. Tatum and Dalton Hadley each had one hit.

Troup will look to get back on track when it hosts Harris County on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in a makeup game.

Also on Thursday, the Callaway Cavaliers lost to unbeaten East Coweta 6-3.

The Cavaliers fell to 5-3 heading into today’s Region 4-AAA opener Douglass.

The game begins at 5:30 p.m. in Atlanta.
