Fire department hosts run to benefit burn victims
The West Point Fire Department hosts the Blazing Road Run on Saturday in front of West Point First Baptist Church, 301 E. 8th St. There are three races: a 10.5K race at 8 a.m., 5K at 10 a.m. and 1 mile at 11 a.m. Cost to participate is $25 for one race, $35 for two and $45 for three. All runners and walkers will receive a free T-shirt and refreshments. Anyone who would like to make a donation and not participate will get a T-shirt. Anyone interested should contact Lt. Rotary Club hosts golf benefit tournament
The LaGrange Rotary Club’s annual Youth Challenge Golf Tournament is set for April 21 at the Highland Country Club. Registration for the four-person scramble is open. Registration for a team is $400. Checks should be made payable to Rotary Youth Challenge Program. Lions Club golf tournament to benefit Salvation Army
The LaGrange Lions Club hosts a golf tournament April 28 at Highland Country Club. Registration for four-person teams begins at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals, and a silent auction will be held. Costs to be a team sponsor is $400 or $100 per individual; team and hole sponsors, $500; hole sponsor, $150; scoreboard sponsor, $75. The club is also seeking donations for prizes in the auction.
