LifeSouth will host the following blood drives in the area:

• West Georgia Health, inside Enoch Callaway Cancer Clinic auditorium, 111 Medical Drive, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday.

• West Georgia Medical Center parking lot, 2 p.m.–7 p.m. Thursday.

• Capital City bank at 3503 20th Ave. (Highway 29) in Valley, Alabama, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Friday.

• The Langdale Mill Farmer’s Market at 6000 20th Ave. (Highway 29) in Valley, 2 p.m.–5 p.m. Friday.

• Greater Valley Juneteenth Community Festival, 6th Avenue in Lanett, Alabama, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday.

Hospice seeking volunteers

Drivers needed for disabled veterans

The Disabled American Veterans van needs volunteer drivers to take veterans about once a month to VA medical centers. The van goes to Atlanta, East Point and Newnan each Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and to Central Alabama Medical Center in Tuskegee on Tuesdays and Fridays. Volunteer drivers must be at least 19 years old, have a three-year clean driving record and pass a complete physical exam, which is provided free by the VA hospital. Troup Cares clinic seeking volunteers

Troup Cares, a free medical clinic for the working, uninsured in Troup County, is seeking volunteers. The group is seeking office volunteers to serve in a variety of positions and volunteer MDs, pharmacists, pharmacy techs, RNs, LPNs, CNAs and medical assistants. Center seeking donations for clothes, money

The Yolanda Jabaley Clothing Center is in need of children’s clothes and clothes for teenagers. Money donated to the center is used to buy new underwear and shoes. Hours of the center are 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, August through May. To donate items when the center isn’t open, call director Rose Meister at 706-302-0179 or Fern Bergeron at 706-885-9388. Monetary donations may be made to Bergeron, center president, at 114 Hawthorne Circle, LaGrange, GA 30240.

Care baskets for breast cancer patients

The Troup County breast cancer support group, Breast Friends for Life, is in need of new or gently used baskets. BFFL makes gift baskets for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Baskets need to have a handle. No Christmas or Easter baskets. Baskets may be dropped off with Wanda Lowe at Enoch Callaway Cancer Center, 111 Medical Drive next to West Georgia Health.
