PINE MOUNTAIN — Callaway Gardens hosts a special vegetable garden cooking and tasting demonstration 10:30 a.m. Sept. 26 in Mr. Cason’s Vegetable Garden.

Limited seating is available for this opportunity as the Vegetable Garden Manager Victoria Goddard-Fischer prepares cuisine using some of the Garden’s September harvest. Participants will taste an old Southern favorite, sweet potato, as well as different varieties of okra, peppers and butternut squash.

She will prepare a soup dish, a stir fry, and a new twist on stuffed peppers. Guests will take home copies of the recipes to try at home, and a complimentary bundle of herbs used to enhance the flavors of the dishes.

The cost of the workshop is $10 per person. Gardens admission is required — $20 per adult; $15 per senior, ages 65 and up; $10 per child, ages 6 to 12; free for children age 5 and younger. For more information, or to register visit www.callawaygardens.com or call 1-844-227-9085. Space is limited.
