Yard sale to benefit church group

A yard sale to benefit Christian education and various projects of the Noon Circle of Loyd Presbyterian Church is 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday in the Community Building across from the church, 550 Upper Glass Bridge Road.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s set to raise awareness, research

The Alzheimer’s Association hosts the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Vernon Woods Retirement Community at 101 Vernon Woods Drive off Vernon Street. Registration for the 2 mile walk is available at www.georgiawalk.org by selecting LaGrange from the list on the left of the page. Participants may also register at 8 a.m. the day of the walk. A ceremony at 9 a.m. precedes the event. The walk is planned to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Church yard sale to benefit outeach projects

Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 Lafayette Parkway, hosts a yard sale 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 19. The yard sale benefits Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Camp Viola, the clothing center, LaGrange Personal Aid and Twin Fountains, along with Florence Hand Home, where they host an annual birthday party for residents. Food closet to host yard sale fundraiser

God’s Bread Basket hosts a fundraiser garage sale 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Sept. 19 at 202 Oak St., Hogansville. There will be a drawing for a new Bose portable CD player. Everyone who enters a $2 donation will have their name entered into a drawing for the item at 1 p.m. The winner does not have to be present to collect the prize. Antique car show to benefit St. Jude’s, Homeless Coalition

The Antique Automobile Club of America, Georgia/Alabama Region, will hold its 34th Annual Antique Auto Meet on Oct. 3 at LaGrange Mall, 1501 Lafayette Parkway. In addition to classic cars on display, there will be door prizes plus a money tree drawing and people’s choice awards for registrants with a 50/50 raffle open to anyone. Proceeds from this year’s show will benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Troup County Homeless Coalition toward efforts to open a facility for men.
