Police: Victim believed to be from Savannah

LaGrange police said a man was struck and killed by a train on the CSX railroad near Cannonville Road early Saturday.

LaGRANGE — LaGrange police confirmed Monday morning one person was struck and killed by a train just after midnight Saturday at the CSX railroad near Cannonville Road.

Investigators said when they arrived on scene, the man was already deceased.

LPD officials stated they believe the victim is from Savannah, but are not releasing his name pending notification of family.

The man’s body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for an autopsy.
