Arson suspected in car fire

LaGRANGE — Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department are looking for the people involved in a suspected arson of a vehicle discovered about 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Edgewood Avenue.

Firefighters with the LaGrange Fire Department arrived on scene and discovered the 2003 Chevy Tahoe fully engulfed in flames, said investigators. Once the blaze was extinguished, firefighters determined the SUV to be a total loss.

LPD investigators learned during the incident, the SUV was in the process of being reported stolen to 911, officials stated in a police report.

The owner told officers the vehicle did not have any mechanical problems, investigators said.
