LaGRANGE — Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a 31-year-old Hogansville man accused of attacking a homeowner outside a residence in the 100 block of Teaver Road on Monday.

Cy Lamar Carson remains on the run from deputies since the incident.

Carson allegedly drove to the man’s home in a vehicle with several other men, stated investigators. Carson reportedly got out of the car armed with a hand axe and attacked the homeowner. The suspect then jumped back in the vehicle and ran over the victim before speeding away from the area, witnesses told deputies.

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered a deep skull fracture, partially severed ear and numerous lacerations from the assault, said investigators.

While investigating the attack, deputies learned Carson also allegedly stole a 2003 Nissan Maxima from Hogansville.

Carson is charged aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and felony theft of a vehicle.

Anyone with information on Carson’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Troup County Sheriff’s Office at 706-883-1616 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. Callers can remain anonymous.
