The downtown promenade’s walkway beside Charlie Joseph’s is open once again, and the parking lot behind the stores along Bull Street also is open for public use.

“The parking lot behind what used to be Solomon’s… is now available for usage,” said City Council Member LeGree McCamey at Tuesday’s LaGrange City Council meeting. “There has not been a ribbon cutting ceremony because there are still a few things that need to be done. However, it is very useful. At night is very gorgeous, so go down and look at it.”

The new parking lot features lighting to improve visibility within the parking lot at night, and plantings to beautify the space. Trees and bushes replace crumbling asphalt on the borders of the freshly paved lot.

Site developers are hopeful that the more organized parking lot will allow for more cars to park in the space provided, even with the new plantings in place.
