LaGRANGE — A teenager was killed following a wreck about 7 p.m. Saturday between a dirt bike and sedan.

Marquavious Strickland, 16, of Hampton Green Drive, was riding his Kawasaki dirt bike down Fourth Avenue when he collided with a Honda Accord driven by Robert Moncrief, 64, of LaGrange, according to LaGrange police.

Moncrief was turning onto Forrest Avenue from Fourth Avenue when Strickland passed on the left and stuck Moncrief’s vehicle, according to a police press release. The area was a no-passing zone, it noted.

Strickland was flown from the scene to Atlanta’s Grady Hospital due to his injuries. Police were notified early Sunday that Strickland died from the injuries.

Moncrief was not injured.

There was slight damage to the dirt bike and moderate damage to the Accord, police stated.

No charges had been filed in the case, but the investigation was ongoing, police noted.
