A LaGrange man reported he was robbed Tuesday evening by five to eight males, who may have been teens, on Troup Street.

The victim allegedly told police he had just bought some marijuana, according to a police report, when the robbers approached him in his car at Troup and Wilson streets and one pointed a gun at him. The robbers took a white Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone, brown leather wallet containing a bank card and IDs, a pack of Newport menthol cigarettes, a lighter and $60 cash, the victim reported.

The victim also told police the same gunmen and two other males, who he believed were 15 to 16 years old, also robbed him Sunday evening by getting into his car and forcing him at gunpoint to drive to a location he wasn’t familiar with, according to the police report. He told police the robbers then took some of his belongings, including $200. He didn’t report the Sunday incident.

Police said the victim became uncooperative and wouldn’t allow police to search his car for evidence.

Investigators asked anyone with information on the incident to contact LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers are anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information leads to an arrest.

Boy injured after being pushed

A 10-year-old boy was injured after police said other children whom he didn’t know pushed him from a scooter on Garfield Street on Tuesday afternoon.

West Georgia Medical Center staff reported the injuries to police, who went to the hospital to speak with the victim. The family did not initially want to speak about the incident, police reported, but eventually the boy said the other boys approached him and one shoved him from the scooter.

The victim hit his face on the road, knocking out a front baby tooth. He also had a swollen upper lip and abrasions to his face and the tops of his hands, police reported.

The victim said the boy who pushed him apologized then left.

Women charged with shoplifting

Two women, ages 21 and 22, were charged with misdemeanor shoplifting Monday after loss-prevention personnel at the store New Franklin Road Walmart said the women attempted to take $120.63 in merchandise, including baby items, clothing, beauty products and detergent.

One of the alleged shoplifters had a 2-year-old child who a friend had to pick up before the suspects were arrested.

Other theft incidents reported Tuesday were:

• Management at the Shell gas station at 505 Vernon St. reported that a former employee had used about $700 in Keno tickets without paying.

• Someone took a Sony radio valued at $100 from the porch of a home in the 400 block of Alford Street, the resident reported.

Fraud

A LaGrange man reported that someone unsuccessfully tried to transfer $4,000 from his bank account, then took $400 from a credit card account and hacked his email to get his information. The victim said he needed the report to start a fraud alert for his accounts.
