LaGRANGE — The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra continues its 2015-16 concert series with “Holiday Presence!” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in Callaway Auditorium on the campus of LaGrange College.
Selections include music from “The Nutcracker,” Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” and the traditional holiday sing-a-long. Joining the symphony are members of a special area honors chorus, comprised of select members for the high school choral groups of LaGrange High School, directed by Katie Westbrook, and Troup High School, directed by Kathy Kirby.
This combined chorus, under the direction of Beth Everett, associate professor of music and director of choral activities at LaGrange College, will perform Vivaldi’s “Gloria in D Major” with the symphony. The soloists for the number will be Everett and Andrea Mueller, adjunct professor of voice at Georgia College and State University in Atlanta.
“The LaGrange Symphony Orchestra is looking forward to s a wonderful evening of music and sharing the holiday spirit with the community,” said Richard Prior, music director and conductor for the orchestra. “This community has a wealth of talent and we are excited to have these young musicians from across the community join us for this concert.”
