LaGRANGE — Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department announced late Thursday night they arrested one man for allegedly shooting another man Monday on Georgia Avenue.

Fredrick Beasley, 36, of Jarboe Street, was taken into custody at his home by officers shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

He was then transported to the Troup County Jail.

LaGrange Police Lt. Dale Strickland said investigators believe Beasley shot a 30-year-old man inside a home in the 900 block of Georgia Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Strickland said the victim was shot at least once in the arm. He was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and is expected to recover.

Beasley remains behind bars and was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
