LaGRANGE — Deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office are often first on the scene of emergency incidents like car accidents.
Now, some of them will have an extra device in their patrol vehicles to help save lives.
Officials with TCSO said the Heart of West Georgia donated four automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, to the department.
Heart of West Georgia is a nonprofit organization focused on raising money for heart education, cardiovascular projects, women’s health and obesity awareness.
According to a news release, all the money the group raises remains in the local community as they “fight against heart disease.”
TCSO officials said the AED devices will be assigned to the patrol deputies.
