A man from the 900 block of Borton Street reported that three unknown males that lived somewhere on Carver Street came to his residence and assaulted him in his front yard causing a minor cut and bleeding to his left eye and swelling to his left cheek. The victim stated that the men came to collect money that his girlfriend owed them for drugs.


Theft/Burglary


A woman from the 700 block of North Harlem Circle reported that someone broke into her home and stole $300 worth of clothing.


A man who owns a building in the 300 block of South Lewis Street reported that someone broke in through a back window and stole a humidifier valued at $200. A black bag of shredded paper was dumped out on the floor and the bag was taken.


At a business in the 100 block of Main Street, an unknown amount of cash and checks were stolen from a safe. Officers also found a metal rod in the rear of the location which was possibly used to break the glass door.


In the 200 block of Whitaker Street, a man reported that a white Chevrolet Cavalier emerged from the back yard and drove through the front yard before driving away toward Hogansville Road. Two doors off of a refrigerator and a blue recycling bin containing scrap metal were stolen.


A cab driver with Friendly Cab reported that she dropped off a female in the 100 block of Turner Street and the woman ran off without paying her $25 for cab fare.


Police responded to Dollar General in the 200 block of Commerce Street where the store manager reported that a man placed two shirts inside his jacket and left the store.


Criminal Trespassing


Police responded to Daniel Street Food Mart in the 500 block of Daniel Street where the owner said a citizen informed him that at 4:30 a.m. she saw a male with a crowbar striking the door. The cable box, a window, the A/C unit and fence were all damaged. The damage is estimated at less than $500.
