Tournament for sick toddler seeking sponsors
A golf tournament and silent auction is set for Aug. 2 with tee off at 9 a.m. and pre-registration at 8 a.m. at the Hogansville Gold Club. The event will benefit the family of Jackson Davis, 2, who was diagnosed with Menkes Disease soon after he was born. Sponsors are sought for the tournament and there are three packages available: package A is $100 and includes name of the sponsor on flyers, banner and tournament T-shirts, package B is $200 and includes package A incentives plus sponsor’s name on the website and water bottles, package C is $300 and includes A and B incentives plus sponsor’s name on a sign at their chosen hole. LifeSouth will hold the following blood drives in the area:
• Walmart of Roanoke, Alabama, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
• Kia Motors in West Point from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.
• Habitat For Humanity ReStore, 333 Main St., of LaGrange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
• Walmart of Valley, Alabama, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Center seeking donations for clothes, money
The Yolanda Jabaley Clothing Center is in need of children’s clothes and clothes for teenagers. Money donated to the center is used to buy new underwear and shoes. Hours of the center are 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, August through May. Merry Market fundraiser seeking vendors
United Way of West Georgia’s fourth annual Merry Market is now accepting applications from vendors interested in participating in the “shopping extravaganza” to be held Oct. 23 to 25 at Callaway Conference Center on the campus of West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange. Saint Peter’s craft fair
The ladies of Saint Peter’s Council of Catholic Women are accepting applications for vendors interested in participating in the craft fair at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 Lafayette Parkway in LaGrange. The indoor craft fair is Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors may include jams, scarves, embroidered items, wood items, stained glass and more. Care baskets for breast cancer patients
The Troup County breast cancer support group, Breast Friends for Life, is in need of new or gently used baskets. BFFL makes gift baskets for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Baskets need to have a handle. No Christmas or Easter baskets. Baskets may be dropped off with Wanda Lowe at Enoch Callaway Cancer Center, 111 Medical Drive next to West Georgia Health.
