Someone may have fired shots near a police cruiser Tuesday evening on Wright Street.
Two officers patrolling the area said they were behind a white truck when they heard what sounded like three gunshots come from the vehicle. They pulled the truck over, removed the four occupants and searched the vehicle, but found no weapon.
Another officer verified no one in the area was hurt and the bystanders believed the shots had been fired into the air. A second, unidentified vehicle was also in the area at the same time, according to the report.
Officers were unable to find any bullet casings or a weapon. The truck’s occupants were released.
Police were investigating the incident as reckless conduct.
