A man was arrested after he allegedly became aggressive toward staff at the Ark Refuge Ministries at 504 E. Depot St. about 1:50 p.m. Wednesday and tried to fight with LaGrange police officers who responded.

Officers said they tried to reason with the man for more than hour to leave the property and receive a medical evaluation.

One officer said the suspect still acted aggressive and as she went to place him under arrest and in handcuffs, he punched her in the chest with both hands. Officers quickly arrested the man and took him to the Troup County Jail.

He was charged with criminal trespassing and obstruction, and banned from the facility.

All information in this report is gathered from official law enforcement and public safety reports and releases. It is the policy of the Daily News to list the names of people charged with felonies.
