A woman reported to staff at Super 8 Motel on Patillo Road that she had been tied up, robbed and beaten in a room on Sunday, but apparently fled when police arrived to investigate.

Staff said the woman told them about the alleged incident as she was checking out, but said she did not want to report it to police. Staff called police anyway, who responded and checked the room, which an officer said smelled like marijuana.

The reporting officer said there was no sign of a struggle, but another staff member said she earlier saw the woman running from the back of the hotel screaming for help and rip off something tied to her wrist. Another witness said he saw the woman flee from the hotel room immediately before the officer arrived.

The officer found what appeared to be a clear plastic tie in the parking lot that the woman had pulled from her wrist. Officers were unable to find her.

The reporting officer said there was insufficient evidence to determine if a crime took place.

Man allegedly tries to eat joint

LaGrange police officers said a man tried to chew up a rolled marijuana joint during a traffic stop Saturday night at Mooty Brige Road and Anne Bailey Way.

The reporting officer said he saw the passenger place something in his mouth. When the officer told the passenger to open his mouth, he instead grabbed a beverage and started drinking.

The officer opened the door and eventually found a partially eaten joint in the passenger’s hand.

He was cited with misdemeanor marijuana possession and released.

Man charged with crack cocaine possession

LaGrange police charged Tylon Partridge, 32, of LaGrange, with cocaine possession with intent to distribute after officers said they found 21 rocks of suspected crack cocaine in his home Friday.

Officers went to the house after an anonymous call claiming Partridge was selling drugs. He allowed officers inside the house, but initially showed them his mother’s room, claiming it was his, according to a report.

His mother returned home and said the room was hers, and when officers checked Patridge’s actual bedroom, they located the suspected drugs on the top of his dresser.

He was taken to Troup County Jail.
