A LaGrange man was arrested Tuesday evening after he allegedly robbed a 16 year old in a LaGrange High School parking lot at 516 N. Greenwood Street about 6:30 p.m.

The juvenile told LaGrange police officers he and the suspect, identified as Nathan Wilborn, 19, were sitting in the parking lot when Wilborn snatched an undisclosed amount of money from his hand.

Police found Wilborn at another location, arrested him and charged him with robbery by sudden snatching.

Domestic dispute

A West Point man was taken into custody by police after he allegedly threatened his brother with a knife during a fight Monday in the Forest Mill Apartments at 1412 Higgins St.

Manuel L. Ridgeway, 62, was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Troup County Jail, said West Point Police Capt. Kevin Carter.

No one was hurt during the altercation.

Battery

LaGrange police are searching for one man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and tried to prevent her from calling 911 Tuesday afternoon near a home in the 700 block of East Depot Street.

The woman said while at their residence, the boyfriend barged through the front door, flipped over a coffee table and began yelling at her, according to the police report.

When she attempted to dial 911, he allegedly grabbed the phone, ran outside and smashed it on the ground. The victim told officers he then grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground on her knees.

Officers noticed cuts to the woman’s right knee, an abrasion in the middle of her scalp and a cracked screen on her cell phone, the report states.

The boyfriend fled the area. Police searched for him, but were not able to locate him.

LaGrange police identified the man as Mannquil Davenport and issued arrest warrants for him on charges of battery and criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act, and hindering a person making emergency telephone calls.

Burglary, theft

• A man reported someone broke into his mother-in-law’s home in the first block of Cary Street on Monday and stole a 40-inch TV and several pieces of jewelry valued at a total $2,319.

A business owner told LaGrange police he left a set of tree spikes valued at about $279 inside a storage closet at a work site in the 100 block of Ashling Drive on June 13, but they were gone when he checked Monday. The owner told officers he recently let some of his employees go, the report states. Police were investigating.
