A night at the club led to the arrest of four men allegedly possessing marijuana while sitting inside a vehicle outside the business.

LaGrange Police Department officers patrolling the parking lot of the Sky Bar at 121 Commerce Ave. about 2:30 Saturday morning reported smelling marijuana from a vehicle with four occupants.

An officer said he noticed what he described as a burnt marijuana joint one of the car’s back windowsills. The officer searched one of the occupants and noticed suspected marijuana “shake” on the front of his pants.

More officers arrived and searched the vehicle, where they found a suspected marijuana bud, wrapping papers and more marijuana “shake” on the floorboards.

An investigator found another suspected small, burnt marijuana joint on one of the passengers.

All four were charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Burglar apparently tries to take TV, drops it

Two brothers returned from a night out to find the TV in a bedroom was broken in an apparent burglary of their home in the 500 block of Brown Street.

LPD officers reported that the mother was sleeping on the couch in the living room and woke up when she heard a noise around 12:45 early Sunday morning. She told police she assumed it was her sons, so she went back to sleep.

When the sons came home, they found their 42-inch Samsung flat-screen TV had been taken off the wall of their bedroom, dropped on the floor and broken.

According to the report, one of the sons also noticed the air-conditioning unit to the bedroom had been removed and the back door was open. Officers found a white chair underneath the window they suspect a burglar used to enter the home.

Police were investigating.
