One man’s alleged attempt to conceal drugs from LaGrange police officers was unsuccessful and landed him behind bars.

LaGrange officers and investigators reported seeing three men walking along the 200 block of Carver Street around 9:30 a.m. Thursday and spoke with them after recognizing them for suspected gang activity.

While speaking with two of the men, an officer said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from where the men were sitting on the porch steps of a home.

The officer asked about the odor and if he could search the two men for drugs, he reported. The two men gave consent, the officer states in his report.

According to the report, the first male came up empty.

The officer then searched the second man, identified as Kentravis Martell Willis, 30, whose address was unavailable, and said he found eight suspected crack rocks and one bag of suspected marijuana hidden in his buttocks area, plus a packaged bundle of individual pieces of crack cocaine in his groin area.

Willis was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Hit and run

One woman is behind bars in a bizarre hit and run incident in West Point.

West Point Police Capt. Robert Fawley said Sherika Kamia Trammell, 39, of West Point, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of leaving the scene of an accident.

Fawley said Trammell was westbound in a vehicle on East 10th Street when she allegedly observed a male friend of hers in a vehicle stopped at stop sign with another female she knows .

According to Fawley, when Trammell passed the pair in the car, she allegedly completed a U-turn and intentionally ran into the driver’s side of the vehicle.

No one was hurt.

The other female in the case allegedly told Fawley, “This is a girlfriend-boyfriend situation.”

Fawley said the case is still under investigation.

Man charged with marijuana possession

An man not wearing his seat belt got more than a citation when he was taken to jail after police allegedly found his secret stash inside his car.

An LaGrange officer stopped the driver of a 2004 Ford Ranger at the corner of Daniel and Revis streets around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when they noticed the passenger was not buckled up.

The officer said while speaking with the driver and occupants of the car, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He reported that he asked and was granted permission to search the driver, but came up empty.

According to the officer, under probable cause, he started searching the occupants and the car. While searching one of the passengers, he alleged that he found a clear, plastic bag with a green, leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, plus a set of digital scales.

The passenger was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce and failure to use a safety belt.
