LaGrange police are searching for a man suspected of throwing a rock through his wife’s front window at an apartment in the first block of North Cary Street about 5 p.m. Thursday.
The woman told officers she had just arrived home when her husband, whom she is separated from, started knocking on her door. She did not let him inside, but a few minutes later received a phone call from a cab company telling them she needed to pay her husband’s cab fare. She told officers she refused.
According to the report, the woman said a few minutes later she heard glass break and found damage to her bedroom window and a rock sitting on the bed.
LaGrange police said they verified through the cab company that they dropped the woman’s husband off at the North Cary location but then he disappeared.
The victim told police her husband threw a rock through the same window less than a week ago.
Police are still investigating and looking for the suspect, who could face criminal trespass charges under the Family Violence Act.
Child porn allegedly found on teen’s phone
A 16-year-old student at LaGrange High School found himself in big trouble Wednesday.
According to a LaGrange police report, a staff member turned the student in to the school resource officer about 10 a.m. The report stated the charge filed against the teen was possession of child pornography, which is a felony.
The property on the student at the time was an iPhone 5C.
No other details were available at press time.
A woman leaving for work Wednesday about 6 a.m. from her home on Jefferson Street received an unwelcome surprise when she realized several items had been stolen from her 2012 GMC Terrain.
She told LaGrange police someone took her HP laptop, spare battery, planner, book bag, pack of cigarettes, bottle of wine, a pair of Verche sunglasses and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses.
The total estimated value was $1,445.
Woman charged with pot possession
A young woman was originally pulled over for a busted headlight, but found herself in handcuffs after a LaGrange police officer said he smelled marijuana inside her car.
The officer pulled the Ford Focus over on Vernon Street near Roanoke Road around 1:30 a.m. today. According to the officer, he immediately smelled the marijuana and asked the driver to step out of the car.
He said she openly admitted there was pot inside the vehicle. The officer said he found it in a small, clear baggie in a compartment under the steering wheel.
The woman was arrested and issued a warning for the headlight violation and a citation for possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
