Some area fraternity brothers are pledging to find who broke into their old frat house in the 700 block of Vernon Street between 11 p.m. Sunday and 6:15 p.m. Monday.

One of the brothers told LaGrange police the fraternity recently sold the home to LaGrange College and everyone was in the process of moving out of the residence.

The man said a Sylvania 42-inch TV inside his bedroom, which was locked, was stolen along with three window air-conditioning units.

Motel theft

A call for a disturbance at the Super 8 motel at 29 Patillo Road turned into more when a guest realized someone in the large, unwanted crowd of people stole his wallet.

LaGrange police responded to the motel about 7:30 a.m. Monday and spoke with the manager who said there was a large group hanging around a particular room.

When officers went to the motel room, a male told police someone stole his wallet from a table inside the room and he tried to confront everyone there.

According to the report, most of the group had left by then.

The victim said his wallet contained $400 in cash, a Charter credit card and his ID.

‘Grinch’ steals Christmas

The Grinch is making an early appearance in the 300 block of Town Center Drive, after one homeowner Monday morning reported someone stole several pieces of his Christmas lighting equipment.

The victim told police four laser lights and an inflatable snowman were missing from his front yard.

Police were investigating.
