Janice L. Brinson, along with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Elmore McGough Jr. of Montgomery, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sidney Anne McGough, to Jon Teal Kelton, son of Billy Wayne and Ann Kelton of LaGrange.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 20, 2014, in the chapel at Shoal Creek Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama, with the reception immediately following the ceremony.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Preston and Blanche Langston and the late Frank and Sid McGough Sr. of Montgomery. She is a 2008 graduate of Trinity Presbyterian High School. Sidney Anne graduated in 2013 from the University of Alabama, where she received her degree in athletic training; was named to the Dean’s List in 2011, 2012 and 2013; and cheered all four years, during which the Tide won two National Championships in football. She lives in Birmingham, where she currently works as a medical assistant for Lemak Sports Medicine in Alabaster, Alabama.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Robert Burns and Erin Howell Teal of Troy, Alabama, and the late Jesse Franklin and Mary Kay Kelton of Lanett, Alabama. He is a 2007 graduate of LaGrange High School and attended the University of Alabama, where he received a bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration with a major in finance and master of science in marketing. Jon played baseball for the University of Alabama and was a four-year letterman, a four-year SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient and was awarded the Commerce and Business Administration Scholastic Athlete Award. He is employed as a financial adviser for Edward Jones with an office in Alabaster.
