A man was shot at his home in the 500 block of Harwell Avenue at approximately 11:40 p.m. Thursday.
According to a LaGrange police report, victim Jimmy Dean heard someone ring his doorbell and when he answered, three unknown males entered his apartment with a shotgun and shot him in the upper portion of his right arm.
Charity Mitchell was inside the shower when one of the suspects broke through the door and demanded she come out of the bathroom.
One of the intruders stated they needed to leave and all three suspects left the location on foot, the report stated.
When police arrived, Dean was bleeding profusely and stated someone named “Quinn” shot him. Mitchell stated the suspect’s name could have been Quentavious Tucker.
Dean was taken to Grady Hospital to receive treatment.
At approximately 1 a.m., an officer was sitting at the intersection of Commerce Avenue and Hogansville Road when a man pulled up in a van and stated that Tucker, 23, of LaGrange was pumping gas across the street at the Summit Store in the 300 block of Commerce Avenue.
According to the report, officers conducted a stop on the suspect vehicle on New Franklin Road at Commerce Ave. Tucker was in the car with another male.
Tucker and the driver were detained while officers conducted a search where they found a bag containing suspected marijuana.
Both were transported to the LaGrange Police Department for possession of marijuana and questioning into the shooting. According to the report, Tucker said he was at Dean’s house to buy weed, but he wasn’t the one who shot him. Tucker was transported to the Troup County Jail.
Police are still conducting an investigation into the case.
