LaGrange police responded to West Georgia Medical Center Wednesday at approximately 10:20 p.m. where a male reported he was shot in the finger during an attempted armed robbery on Tower Street by an unknown male wearing a ski mask and all black clothing.
According to reports, the victim was on Tower Street when the suspect allegedly jumped out of the bushes with a black handgun and demanded money. After stating he didn’t have anything, the suspect allegedly dug through his pockets while pointing the gun at him.
During this time, the gun went off shooting the victim in his left hand ring finger. He reported the bullet went through his cellphone as well. The suspect then fled on foot.
The victim walked to his house in the 300 block of Johnson Street where his sister took him to the emergency room.
The suspect was described as a black male and smaller build according to reports.
