Two men were injured after a drive-by shooting on McGee Street Thursday night. At about 9:36 p.m., LaGrange police responded to a house in the 100 block of McGee Street after a call of shots fired in the area. Officers found Leemarkese Melson, 22, and Jakevies Tucker, 21, with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the leg, said Lt. Dale Strickland. According to reports, the two were standing outside of the residence when a gold Toyota sedan carrying several black males drove by and fired shots at them. One of the shooters was using a shotgun and another was using a rifle, Strickland said. After firing the shots, the shooters sped away. Detectives believe the shooting is because of an internal dispute between one of the suspects and one of the victims, Strickland said. Melson and Tucker were taken to West Georgia Medical Center for treatment and were released Friday morning. Police were investigating.
