Center seeking donations for clothes, money
The Yolanda Jabaley Clothing Center is in need of children’s clothes and clothes for teenagers. Money donated to the center is used to buy new underwear and shoes. Hours of the center are 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, August through May. To donate items when the center isn’t open, call director Rose Meister at 706-302-0179 or Fern Bergeron at 706-885-9388. Monetary donations may be made to Bergeron, center president, at 114 Hawthorne Circle, LaGrange, GA 30240.
Merry Market fundraiser seeking vendors
United Way of West Georgia’s fourth annual Merry Market is now accepting applications from vendors interested in participating in the “shopping extravaganza” to be held Oct. 23 to 25 at Callaway Conference Center on the campus of West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange. Saint Peter’s craft fair
The ladies of Saint Peter’s Council of Catholic Women are accepting applications for vendors interested in participating in the craft fair at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 Lafayette Parkway in LaGrange. The indoor craft fair is Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors may include jams, scarves, embroidered items, wood items, stained glass and more. Proceeds to benefit the charities supported by CCW, including but not limited to Meals on Wheels, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, the clothing center and Camp Viola.
Care baskets for breast cancer patients
The Troup County breast cancer support group, Breast Friends for Life, is in need of new or gently used baskets. BFFL makes gift baskets for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Baskets need to have a handle. No Christmas or Easter baskets. Baskets may be dropped off with Wanda Lowe at Enoch Callaway Cancer Center, 111 Medical Drive next to West Georgia Health.
