LaGrange Police are searching for three suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery Monday.

According to a police report, at around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the first block of Barnard Avenue in reference to a home invasion with shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, Jim Bouie, 28 , of LaGrange, who stated that he was cooking dinner for his three nieces in the kitchen when he heard a knock at the back door.

The report said that Bouie opened the door and saw three unknown males wearing black and ski masks. One of the males then pointed a pistol at him and attempted to gain entry into the residence.

According to the report, Bouie said he tried to close the door, but the suspect with the gun stuck his hand and foot into the door jam so it would not close. As Bouie was trying to close the door the suspect fired the gun into the home.

The report said that the suspect was able to free his leg and arm from the door and fled on foot. No one was injured in the home and officers checked the area after the incident but were unable to locate the suspects.

This case is still under investigation.
