After three years, the Troup County Sheriff’s Office has found a suspect in an unsolved armed robbery.

According to sheriff’s investigators, an armed robbery in March 2010 at the The Money Back store on Hamilton Road and had been unsolved with no suspect information.

Investigators discovered DNA evidence at the store and sent it to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for analysis. This week, the lab results revealed that Ricardo Strozier, 25, of Columbus, Georgia was directly linked to this crime. As investigators began searching for Strozier, they spoke with homicide detectives from the Columbus Police Department and learned that Strozier is presently serving life without parole for murder and armed robbery from a Muscogee County case which he pleaded guilty to this year. Strozier shot a man five times in his driveway and killed him. That case occurred shortly after the Troup County armed robbery.

Investigators will seek an armed robbery charge against Strozier for the Troup County robbery.
