Western Heights Baptist Church will hold a community prayer service for persecuted Christians on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. and again from noon to 12:45 p.m.

“In recent days, we’ve seen many images of both adults and children being horribly persecuted for their faith in our world,” said Greg Brown, pastor of Western Heights Church. “We often feel helpless in the face of such evil. However, as Christians we have a powerful resource – prayer. We’re calling together the community this week to intercede for our brothers and sisters in Iraq, Ukraine and across the world.”

According to Crisis International Ministries, 200 million people face persecution for their Christian beliefs and 60 percent of those are children.

The community-wide prayer services will be held in the sanctuary at the church, 2382 West Point Road in LaGrange.

For information, see the church Facebook page or call the office at 706-882-2545.
