Torie Cortez Hardnett, 19, of LaGrange was arrested Thursday evening on possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects and criminal street gang charges. Police pulled Hardnett over at Whitesville Street and White Street for not wearing a seat belt. Police smelled marijuana coming from Hardnett and search him where they allegedly found a black digital scale and a clear package of marijuana in an estimated amount of 12 grams. A street gang charge was added because Hardnett was currently out on bond for a gang related shooting occurring last year.
Police arrested a juvenile Friday morning on Main Street who was in violation of curfew. On his person, police found 10 alprazolam pills, 11 warfarin green pills and 12 buspiron white pills which are considered dangerous drugs. None of the pills were in their original container. He was later released to his grandmother.
Melissa Ann Pope, 26, of LaGrange was arrested Thursday evening at Walmart in the 800 block of New Franklin Road on a felony shoplifting offense where she allegedly stole a bottle of coke and a RID kit. This is allegedly her fourth shoplifting offense, making it a felony.
A woman from the 1300 block of Forrest Ave reported someone kicked in her front door and stole a 52 inch Samsung flat screen television valued at $500, three 30-packs of Budlight valued at $57, a half gallon of E&J liquor valued at $18, and a black handheld PSP valued at $200.
A woman reported someone stole her purse and floor mats from her car when she got off work from CVS in the 1800 block of Roanoke Road.
A man reported his $700 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 cellphone was stolen while he was at work at Gamestop in the 1500 block of Lafayette Parkway.
Police responded to the 100 block of Commerce Court to a battery call where a woman reported her mom was hit in the nose with a beer can by a roommate which caused a laceration and bleeding.
