James Preston (“Pratt”) Walton
LaGRANGE — The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. James Preston (“Pratt”) Walton of 227 Webster Street will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 2:00PM at the Mount Beulah Baptist Church. Rev. W. Craig Thornton will officiate. Burial will be in the Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Walton, a native of Five Points, Alabama, was born September 1, 1931, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Bell Miles Phillips Sr. and the late Jimmy Walton. He was a dedicated employee of Milliken and Company for twenty-nine years. At an early age, he joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Five Points, Alabama.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Ella Mae Gibson Walton; two daughters: Agnes (George) Walton and Sheryl (Kevin) Sudolok, all of LaGrange; two sons: James Walton Jr., Peoria, IL, and Arthur (Veronica) Walton, Bunkie, LA; five grandchildren: Jeffery Lewis Walton, Lateah Walton, Rachel Mae Sukdolok, Christopher Sudolok, all of LaGrange, and Vickie (Jonathan) Patterson, Atlanta; three sisters: Rosa Lee (J.D.) Brisk, Dotcie Mae Phillips, Jessie (Douglas) Ferrell, all of Lanett, AL; two brothers: Miles Phillips Jr., Lanett, AL, and Sylvester (Shirley) Walton, Atlanta; sister-in-law, Sarah (Jimmy) Casher; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Lee and and grandson, Donald Walton.
