There’ll be plenty of take-downs and pins at LaGrange High today.
LaGrange will host the junior-varsity Granger Invitational today, with 10 teams set to participate, including the host Grangers.
The action gets under way at 9 a.m.
There will be 134 wrestlers competing, and 27 of them are from LaGrange High.
To be eligible to compete in the tournament, a wrestler has to be a freshman, sophomore or junior.
LaGrange wrestling coach Scooter Weathers also said “they can’t have placed at area or qualified for the state tournament.”
Weathers said it gives everyone a chance to face off against someone of a comparable skill level.
“They’ll be able to get some work against other JV wrestlers,” Weathers said.
LaGrange opened its season in the Alexander Duals on Nov. 16, and it took part in a three-team meet last week along with East Coweta and Sandy Creek.
LaGrange will be back home on Dec. 4 before hosting the Granger Duals on Dec. 7.
