They’re hoping to make it a perfect week.

The Troup High Lady Tigers have won both of their matches this week, including Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Kendrick, and they’ll have a chance to make it three-for-three when they host Landmark Christian on Friday.

“Landmark beat us last year with about 30 seconds left. It was about a 30-yard shot,” Troup coach Jase Crenshaw said. “It was heart-breaking.”

The Lady Tigers come into the game with some momentum.

On Monday, Troup fought back from a 1-0 deficit in the second half to beat Callaway 2-1.

The Lady Tigers followed that up with Wednesday’s home win.

Troup built a 2-0 lead at the half, and it added another goal late in the game to complete the scoring.

In the first half, Serena Reeves and Anna Jo Taylor had goals, and Mary Claire Finlay found the net in the second half.

“We had a couple of really good goals,” Crenshaw said. “We had some beautiful shots from Serena and Anna Jo.”

After Friday’s game, the Lady Tigers will return to their Region 5-AAAA schedule next week.

“We’re starting to hit the Alexander, Carollton, Columbus stretch, and LaGrange a little bit after that,” Crenshaw said. “So these wins are crucial right now.”

Friday’s game will begin at 5:30 p.m., and it will be senior night.
