They’re back on track.

After dropping their past two games, the Troup Tigers got back on the winning side of the equation with a 4-0 victory over Kendrick on a cool, windy evening at Callaway Stadium.

David Peleaz notched a pair of goals, and Aaron Rensenhouse and Matthew Hale each had one goal.

“We’re young, but we’re improving,” Troup coach Pete Anderson said.

The Tigers (3-4) lost to the rival Callaway Cavaliers 4-0 on Monday in a game that was scoreless until there were nine minutes left in the first half.

In Troup’s previous game against Fayette County, it was a competitive game early before things came unraveled.

Fayette County went on to claim a 7-0 victory in the Region 5-AAAA game.

“We lost big to Fayette County, but I really thought we played solid for about 15 minutes, maybe a little bit longer, and then the house kind of fell in,” Anderson said.

The Tigers have had to replace a lot of players from last season’s team, and one of this year’s seniors said it’s been a matter of everyone getting on the same page.

“We just need to build our team chemistry,” Mack Morris said. “That’s the biggest thing. We’re getting there.”

The Tigers dominated Wednesday’s game from the opening moments, but they were only up by one goal at the half.

In the second half, the Tigers continued to get good looks at the goal, and they found the net three times.

On the final goal, Alan Vasquez delivered a perfect pass to Peleaz, who put the ball past the goal keeper for his second goal.

“We put it together in the second half tonight,” Morris said.

Troup will try to get a winning streak going when it hosts Landmark Christian on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

After that, the Tigers will return to the meat-grinder that is their Region 5-AAAA schedule.

“Our region is so good. It’s tough,” Anderson said.
