Logan Hood pitched a gem for the LaGrange Grangers on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough, not with Cason Greathouse on the mound for the Columbus Blue Devils.
Greathouse pitched a complete-game two hitter as the Blue Devils blanked the Grangers 2-0.
Hood also went the distance and gave up just five hits, but the Blue Devils managed single runs in the first and fourth innings, which was enough support for Greathouse.
Greathouse also got it done at the plate, driving in one of the Blue Devils’ runs while scoring the other.
Nick Poskey and Will Kilgore had one-out singles in the first inning, and Greathouse later had a sacrifice fly to bring in Poskey.
In the fourth inning, Greathouse doubled, and he eventually scored on a Dylan Baker sacrifice fly.
The Grangers fell to 4-5 in Region 5-AAAA, and they’ll look to even their region record when they host Alexander today.
