The sisters were together again.
For years, Allie Paschal and Maddie Paschal were both members of the Troup County Sharks swim team.
While Allie Paschal, a rising sophomore at LaGrange High, is still with the Sharks, LaGrange graduate Maddie Paschal has moved on and is now a member of the Georgia Tech swim team.
Last weekend, the sisters were both competing in the Georgia Senior Long Course Championships, which featured many of the state’s top swimmers.
Sydney Mauldin, Christine Yin, Josh Gynther and Andrew Ingram, other members of the Sharks swim team, also participated in the three-day event that was held at the University of Georgia.
Maddie Paschal swam away with a state championship in the 50-meter backstroke, and she also earned a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke.
Maddie Paschal added a 21st-place finish in the 200-backstroke.
Allie Paschal also enjoyed a successful meet.
She was fourth in the 50 backstroke, and 23rd in the 100 backstroke and the 50-meter butterfly.
She also competed in the 50-meter freestyle where she finished 42nd.
Her other events were the 200 backstroke (62nd) and the 100-meter butterfly (135th).
Mauldin earned a 52nd-place finish in the 50 backstroke, and she also swam in the 200 backstroke where she was 69th.
Mauldin finished 73rd in the 100 backstroke.
Yin’s lone event was the 100 butterfly, and she finished 91st.
Gynther (107th) and Ingram (121st) both participated in the 100 butterfly.
