It’s a very tough job being a law enforcement person.
People very seldom say thank you to any of them. Ninety nine and a half percent really care about people and want to help their fellow man. If you think of all of the thousands of officers that each week come in contact with the public that many times are on drugs, drunk or just mad at the world, we are blessed there are not more shootings.
On Facebook this week I have seen two very good videos by young black males saying it is also the driver’s job to be professional by having your driver’s license and insurance card on the dash with both hands on the steering wheel. Everyone wants to go home safely, the driver and the police officer.
Many are nervous and when everyone is treated with respect all people go home safe. As my dad would say, “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.”
Who knows, with a nice smile, a “yes, sir” and “no, sir” you may not get a ticket.
This past week the news has been very sad. Many lives and families will never be the same. Hate will not solve any problems.
I wish I was smart enough to have all the answers. Please go to my Facebook page and look at the two examples of how to act when your pulled over. Let’s all try to drive better and be the best partner on the road we can be.
The life you save may be yours or someone you love. May God Bless America!

Does everyone need a Rainy Day Fund? Yes!
Dave Ramsey talks about having at least $1,000 put away for all those items that you did not count on. This can be your money in the safe deposit box, in that checking account you must not touch or in that sock drawer that you never touch, but have one.
Why, you ask? Everyone will have a rainy day, that is for sure! You say, “Jerry, I can hit the old MasterCard, what is the big deal?” Twenty one percent interest is the big deal!
Now, this is not money to go to Panama City, Florida, on or buy that new shotgun, this is for the problems in life. Maybe the tree falls on your roof and you have a $2,000 deductible. Everyone will have a bad day they do not plan.
The good news is that you planned in advance and now you know this is not the end of the world. Life is good!
