Letter: Mosa Fund seeking cats to fix Friday

Published 12:00 am Monday, August 22, 2016

The Mosa Fund, 501c3 nonprofit organization in Troup County, is seeking cats to spay and neuter on (Friday) Aug. 26. It will fix eight males and eight females with Dr. Amanda Greathouse. To sign up, call Nancy Yates at 706-884-3167 at night between 7:30 to 9:30 to get on the list. It is first come, first serve.

All cats must be six months of age, no kittens. Cats must not have anything to eat after 12 midnight on Thursday and be contained in a clean plastic cat carrier lined with layers of paper towels. We do not accept cats in fabric containers as several have recently clawed their way out. The Most Fund has several containers that it will lend — again on a first-come, first-served basis.

Owners must arrive at Dr. Greathouse’s lot on the corner of Roanoke and Fling roads at 8:15 on Friday morning, Aug. 26. Cats will be returned to their owners late that afternoon when they are called by Mosa Fund volunteers.

Owners are requested to donate a large bag of quality cat food to the Mosa Fund for this service — Purina, Whiska’s, Meow Mix, etc. — not Special Kitty. This food will be used to feed feral cats in the county.

Two Mosa Fund volunteers feed over 120 cats each night.
