Armed Robbery
A man suffered minor injuries to the back of his head, after an armed robbery outside Dominos, located at 170 Corporate Plaza, Saturday.
According to a LaGrange police report, the victim said two black males came out of the brush behind the restaurant and attacked him. He said they both had pistols and forced him out of his car, slamming his head in the door jam in the process.
They took three opaque-colored, plastic money bags with the restaurant’s deposits. The bag, which had a Domino’s logo on it, contained more than $2,000 cash.
Another victim said she had just locked up the business and she gotten into her car when she saw a man in all dark clothing approach her with a pistol in his hand. She started backing out of the parking lot, when both suspects started running down Corporate Plaza towards Jim Bob’s restaurant, according to the report.
Police are investigating the incident.
Armed Robbery Arrest
Police arrested a man, after an armed robbery was reported in the 300 block of Harwell Avenue. The victim told police that the suspect stole $90 and a cell phone from him, according to a report. Brandon Jones, 30 of LaGrange, was arrested on charges of robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Entering Auto Arrest
Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department arrested Edwin Darnes, 32 of Atlanta, on several counts of entering autos Monday morning. According to police, Darnes was seen breaking into a vehicle on Cherokee Road and fled the scene when approached. After hours of searching for the suspect, he was found hiding on a porch in a nearby residence. Darnes is believed to be responsible for recent entering auto reports on Cherokee Road, according to police.
Burglaries, thefts
Three heat pumps were reportedly stolen from Mt. Gilliard Church, located at 219 Cedar Street.
Arrests
Three men, ages 18, 19 and 20, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in the 800 block of Dallis Street. Police said the suspects were in a car parked near the swimming pool of LaGrange College.
A woman reported someone entered her auto in the 200 block of Pierce Street, stealing $70 cash and two credit cards. Police are investigating the incident.
A man reported someone entered his auto in the 100 block of Garfield Street, stealing the motor fan of his 2000 Nissan Altima.
Arrests
Tudoras Henderson, 33 of LaGrange, was arrested on charges of marijuana possession with intent to distribute. Police said Henderson, arrested in the 100 block of Burr Street, was allegedly found with 13.2 grams of suspected marijuana separated in bags.
James Wojcichowski, 39, and Lonnie Kidd, 58, were arrested on alleged charges of burglary and criminal trespassing after an alarm activation in the 1000 block of Hogansville Road. Police said the two men were seen breaking the glass of the front door of a residence on surveillance video.
