Mr. Horace (“Billy”) Motin Jr. of East Point passed away Tuesday.

Mr. Motin, a native of Troup County, was born October 22, 1951 and was the son of Louvonia Motin and the late Horace Motin Sr.

He was a 1970 graduate of Ethel W. Kight High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was employed by Georgia Power as a field service representative. He was a member of Burks Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Jennifer LaShaun Ponder, Atlanta; and her brother, Jermaine Ponder, Fort Stewart, GA; his devoted mother, Louvonia Motin, Pine Mountain; five sisters: Catherine Ryce, Birmingham, AL; Bettye (Donald) Davenport, LaGrange; Faye (Randal) Mason, Columbus, GA; Marguerite (Ray) Bailey, LaGrange; Vanessa Evans, Pine Mountain; two brothers: Michael (Annie) Motin, LaGrange; Chubby (Beverly) Motin, Fayetteville, GA; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pelvin Motin, Jr.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00PM at the Burks Chapel United Methodist Church, Burks Chapel Road. Rev. Alphonso Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at the home of his mother, Louvonia Motin at 216 Salem Farm Road.
