“Folk Crafts of West Georgia” at Legacy Museum on Main, in conjunction with the opening of “American Folk Hero: Outsider Art of Georgia and Alabama” at LaGrange Art Museum. The exhibit will feature the more ornamental variety of crafts such as quilts, baskets, wood carvings and bowls, and totem poles from Troup and surrounding counties. Items on display date from the early 1900s to recent days. Legacy Museum on Main is located at 136 Main St. in LaGrange. The museum is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free of charge. For more information, call 706-884-1828.

“Metamorphoses,” a play based on Greek and Roman myths, is 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday, and Nov. 8-10, with a 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in Price Theater. The Patchwork Players presents “By the Pound,” an original stage play written and directed by Rachel Einglett Elliott and Jack Bagley to benefit the Humane Society of Harris County. The performances will be in the Briton Little Theatre at the DHA Community Life Center in Pine Mountain. Show times are Nov. 1, 3, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 4 and 11 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 — pre-sales only due to limited seating in the theater. The Friends of LaGrange Memorial Library group is collecting books for DOYB (Drop Off Your Books) in preparation for its Mega Book Sale, which is Dec. 8. People who choose may participate may drop off books at the circulation desk. No magazines or encyclopedias, but CDs and DVDs are welcome.
