Mrs. Isabel Morgan Jackson, 99, of Hogansville, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012. Mrs. Jackson was born in Henderson, NC, on June 11, 1913, the daughter of the late Samuel Lewis Morgan and Isabelle Robeson Morgan.

Survivors include her brother, Neil Morgan, and sons, Ramon Jackson (Dolores) and Alan Jackson (Roberta); grandchildren, Christina Leite Penton (Teddy) and Patrick Jackson (Carol Holmberg); great-grandchildren Ada Mar Jackson, Tori Penton, and Tylir Penton.

Besides her parents and brothers, Lewis and David, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Judson Jackson, whom she married in May, 1939. Judson’s work as a Baptist pastor took them from Knoxville, TN, to LaGrange, with several stops in between. They helped establish Camp Pinnacle in Clayton, GA, from which they retired in 1978. In their later years, Judson and Isabel lived at their beloved “Briar Patch” in Hogansville and were devoted members of the Central Baptist Church in Newnan.

A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating. Internment will take place on the grounds of Ashwood, a farm owned by the Robeson family, near Fayetteville, NC, on the Cape Fear River, where Isabel spent the summers during her childhood.
