Joseph Jerome (Jerry) Reardon went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 13, 2012.

Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents, Francis X. (Foxo) and Carolyn T. Reardon; his Wife, Betsy D. Reardon and two sons, Francis X. Reardon II and Timothy Dismas Reardon.

Born April 2, 1933 in Richmond, Va., Jerry attended Benedictine High School and was a proud Marine. He worked many years for the railroad and continued his career in transportation management until his retirement. He did a short stint acting in community theatre and had a wonderful baritone voice which was enjoyed by many. He loved being outdoors just sitting on the deck and listening to nature and he loved his dogs, “Pud” and “Rose” who I am sure were waiting at the gates of Heaven for him.

He is survived by his son, Joseph J. Reardon, Jr. (Susan) and daughter, Carolyn R. May (Jim); brothers, Francis X. Reardon, Jr., John E. Reardon, Dr. Patrick A. Reardon, Michael T. Reardon and Gordon T. Reardon and sisters, Margaret Ann Latimer and RoseMary Cosby; five Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren; many Nieces and Nephews and numerous friends who will truly miss him and his wonderful sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jerry’s name can be made to your local Humane Society.

The family will receive friends at Bliley’s - Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 with a Rosary following at 7 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 828 Buford Road on Thursday October 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
